Extended Profile of Mr. Eric TS Lai

He has represented and advised clients from various industries, including consultant engineers, construction, developers, liquidators, computer and software sectors, and corporate individuals, facilitating their business setup and investments in Malaysia. He has advocated for clients up to the highest court of the land.

 

Throughout his practice, he has handled a diverse array of cases, spanning agency, leasing, insurance, factoring, banking, employment and industrial disputes, conveyancing, corporate advisory and litigation, construction, Information Technology, and general litigation matters. Before embarking on his legal career, he gained valuable experience in the corporate sector, particularly in property, tax (TAMS), insurance (CU-Commercial Union Assurance), and banking (Citibank).

Committed to giving back to the community, he dedicates his time to various NGOs such as Lion Club, MAKNA (Majlis Kanser Nasional), and FIABCI. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Excellent Secretary Award in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, Mr. Eric has notable experience in criminal litigation, with one of his cases being featured in Sundaily where he successfully defended a defendant against capital punishment.

He served on the board of MAKNA as an EXCO member and Honorary Secretary, earning the distinction of being the youngest EXCO member at the time. His expertise has been instrumental in advising on legal matters related to cancer research and other issues. He also held the position of President of Lion Club of KL Sentul in 2010.

Mr. Eric holds a Bachelor's degree in Law (Wales) (UK) and certificates in Arbitration and Corporate Secretary.

Furthermore, Mr. Eric was invited to speak on the "Companies Act 2016" by the Malaysia Accounting Firms Association (MAFA), a testament to his expertise and standing in the legal community.

Extended Profile Norashikin Binti Islam @ Mohd Said

Puan Norashikin holds an LLB (Hons) Degree from the University of Malaya and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on January 13, 1999.

Under the mentorship of Hamid Sultan bin Abu Backer, she commenced her legal career as a legal assistant at the law firm of Messrs. Noor Amran & Co. She was later promoted to partner in 2003. Puan Norashikin also holds a Diploma in Syariah Law & Practice [DSLP], which she obtained from the International Islamic University in August 2000.

Throughout her career, Puan Norashikin has amassed extensive experience in Conveyancing, Corporate Law, and Islamic banking financing. She is also a sought-after speaker, delivering talks and lectures on banking matters and conveyancing practices.
